Applying Software Deployment Policy
Step by Step

To provide software to users through network

Prerequisites

  • Before working on this lab, You must have
  • A computer running windows 2022 server Domain Controller.
  • A computer running running windows 2022 or windows 10

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1

Logon to D.C as Administrator, Create a Shared folder with (.msi) applications in it

Go to Group Policy Management.

Step 3

Right click OU (Sales1) à Create a GPO in this domain and Link it here à Enter the name (Software Deployment) à click OK, Right click the policy and click Edit.

Step 4

User Configuration à Expand Policies à Expand Software settings à Right click Software Installation à Select New à Package

Select the MSI Software’s Shared Folder à click Open.

Select the Application (Putty) à click Open.

Select the Method to Deploy Application (Published) and click OK.

Verification

  • 1. Go to Member Server and login as user1.
  • 2. Go to Control Panel, click Programs and Features.
  • 3. Click Install a Program from the Network, Select the Application and Install
